The Texas Rangers avoided elimination with a 9-2 win over the Houston Astros in Game 6 of the AL Championship Series on Sunday night.
Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi remained unbeaten this postseason, while Mitch Garver had three hits and two RBIs, and Jonah Heim homered early before Adolis García hit a ninth-inning grand slam to blow the game open.
With the Game 6 win, the Rangers evened the best-of-seven series at 3-3. The decisive Game 7 is set to take place on Monday night in Houston, with Cristian Javier pitching for the Astros against three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer.
