President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris made their first visit to areas impacted by Hurricane Helene on Oct. 2, after the devastating storm wreaked havoc on six states throughout the southeast.
Biden visited South Carolina and North Carolina to tour the areas damaged. The White House stated that Biden will continue his tour with stops in Georgia and Florida on Oct. 3.
Meanwhile, Harris traveled to Augusta, Georgia, to survey impacted areas and provide updates on the federal government’s response.
