The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives will conduct bipartisan investigations into the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
The former president was grazed by a bullet fired by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. One rally attendee was killed and two others were seriously injured.
Lawmakers have called for an investigation into how the shooter managed to gain access to the roof of a nearby building and fire at the former president, despite the presence of the U.S. Secret Service.
